i thought we already had the discussion of kara balancing her life's two identities back in season one. three more months and it would have been three years since the "blood memory" episode aired. they should ashamed for waiting so long to come back to nia's story with her sister

"I'm seeing a lot of speculation out there regarding this synopsis, that it's setting up Kara hanging the cape up and retiring as Supergirl at the end of the series or Kara's identity as Supergirl being revealed at the end of the series(something they did with Superman recently in the comics)." Wow - No, I certainly don't want to see either of those endings! I'm hoping that the series will go out on a high note, with Supergirl still saving her city from all external threats. (I don't see how she could do that if everyone knows her secret identity...)

Because someone says they don't like a person - this does not equate to "trashing" the person. No need to go into how Alex's time was cut significantly - we all agree with that and have mentioned it many times (but always feel free to list out examples. Yes, I do not favor seeing the weepy eyed Dreamer. That's not "trashing" her, it's just says I don't like the fictional character (emphasis on fictional). Yes I like Lena - are we going to go through your rantings every time someone dares to say they like Lena. Are we always going get the impression that you feel your opinion is the only justified one. This forum made all feel welcome - not just the people who agree with you. If this has changed please let me know and I will contact Eric for the new rules.

At least Nia's sister storyline was here from the start. Contrary to what people say, Nia is not getting a spinoff so this is the last opportunity of the show to resolve her conflict with her sister. And I continue to ask, why is Lena getting a free pass here? Lena had an entire season dedicated to her feelings. She got a lengthy couch scene with Kara in the last episode that by all rights should have gone to Alex. Alex got made a bit player in the 100th episode over Lena's ungrateful behind. And now in season 6 she is getting an entirely unneeded new storyline. Nia's conflict with her sister has always been fundamental to her. But who other than the writers looked at Lena at the beginning of season 6 and through: you know what Lena really needs? A witch backstory and an arc about accepting her Harry Potter powers! In a world where Lena already had a story! It's about defeating her family and turning her back on them. On this show we have met Lena, Lena's step mother, Lena's brother, Lena's mother, Lena's mother's friends, Lena's best friend from the past, Lena's best friend from the past's father, Lena's best friend from the past's boyfriend, Lena's other good friend Samantha, Lena's other good friend Samantha's daughter, Lena's other friend from school with the alien fight ring, Lena's boyfriend from her past. By comparison, how many best friends from college of Alex's have we met and how much screentimes have they gotten? How much time was dedicated to Alex dealing with her father's death over Lena with her mother's death? How many ex's from Alex's past have we gotten to meet? Yet Lena gets a free pass, because the actress is hot. Nia gets trashed when clearly Lena and her extended family is how the show started undercutting Alex and Kara's relationship to the extent that it was almost completely absent in the Luthor centric season 5 and they are still throwing screentime at her over Alex&Kara

Kelly is a character in the show that I could take or leave. Her lines are forced & her acting seems fictional. Even though I do not favor the character Dreamer - she is a good actress and will grow better with time. Not to say the same won't happen with Kelly. I am not pleased that we will spend time with Nia & her sister and yet the sister relationship that the show is based on (Kara & Alex) is not being featured in these closing episodes. Somehow I knew that Dreamer would be going after the Dream totem (it would only make good sense). Another episode taken up by Dreamer when the Danvers sisters' relationship is being downplayed. I really could care less about Dreamer and her sister. Somehow, the writers seem to be getting it wrong again (that's not new). I guess sometimes you just have to take what is given to you and be satisfied  I do think this is the crossroad for SuperGirl. If she stops being SuperGirl, she will also have to be able to see crime happening and view it in the eyes of a reporter without using her powers (or use them very little). In essence, she will have to face the totem scenario for courage - the courage to leave SuperGirl behind. However, I think Kara will realize that there are times her strength is needed and I don't think she is going to give up the cape because I think Kara's love for protecting those who cannot protect themselves will always take precedence over her need for a detached separate life. For income, Andrea, if she finds out Kara's identity could pay her commission on all her exclusives. Another scenario is that Kara becomes the keeper of the totems. She is already the paragon of Hope - could be she resides somewhere where if needed can be called upon but in essence making sure that the Totems remain safe. I just don't want to see her and Alex separated - that was such a beautiful sister relationship.

It really is a classic troupe.Superman II and Spider-Man 2 both dealt with this idea. ETA I'm seeing a lot of speculation out there regarding this synopsis, that it's setting up Kara hanging the cape up and retiring as Supergirl at the end of the series or Kara's identity as Supergirl being revealed at the end of the series(something they did with Superman recently in the comics). ETA 2 Maybe this was her courage test? She should of shown her courageous vulnerability the night she saved Alex by revealing her whole self as Kara Zor-El Danvers and not get out there quickly and create the Supergirl identity?

Sounds like an interesting episode. Though I am saddened that there are only so few episodes left and not a single one has even hinted of Kara and Alex getting a strong episode together. With this episode showcasing a different pair of sisters, I hope that maybe the Danvers sisters will be shown as a contrast, even if the summary does not foreshadow it. A bit strange that juggling her reporter job with a major attack is being portrayed as a big crisis, as if Kara hadn't experienced that countless times before.
